Where can you find answers to your most important questions about simple living and minimalism?
For starters, you can join forums and Facebook groups… everywhere you look, people have something to say!
Learning to live simply is an art.
Learning to live as a minimalist? Now, that takes wit, stamina and perseverance.
And how to combine simple living and minimalism with ecological consciousness?? That is where the real challenge begins.
If you are new to the paradigm shift of becoming an unconsumer, you may have some questions – and we are likely to have some different, unconventional answers up our sleeves.
Here at Handcrafted Travellers, we have been living as self-proclaimed eco-minimalists for the past decade and we have been blogging about it since 2011.
We have lived without running water for eight years, we have gone eight months without electricity – using beeswax candles by the light of the moon, and for many years we used a compost toilet while homesteading in Hungary.
While we may not live in a tiny house, our belongings take up very little space and for the past two years we have been living out of our backpacks, being able to carry all that we own.
We have been rocked to sleep in a caravan in the wind-swept Scottish Borders, shared a house with a hoarder in southern England and now are sort of house-sitting (exchanging our skills and time, rather than money) in Breb, Romania.
Through it all, we have experienced a lot! From growing our own on the farm to shopping up and down the High Street, we have collected plenty of stories and tales to tell.
So, if you have unanswered questions about simple living or minimalism, we would be happy to answer select ones via blog posts and newsletters.
