Integrity… We are born with it by our Nature mother. It’s around our birth when we exhibit its magnificence at its fullest – at least so it seems.
For thereafter something queer happens: due to unnatural causes, they undergo a steady but thorough separation. Self takes off, elopes with culture. This is a temptation we succumb to – I argue – earlier than those sex-hormones-induced quiverings that challenge our bearings, from earlier on till later on than we each would like to admit.
So the stem, integrity, falls behind and deeper into the densening thicket of our subconscious, while the self strays from in all directions. It may be so, but integrity is always there with us, for us. A forgotten and often betrayed yet inviolable point of reference.
It’s undoubtedly fortunate when the still very young self can enjoy the close and caring company, of someone who intimately knows, because she/he remembers the innate integrity of that self.
Naturally, and if they are discerning, parents could make great such persons, who, time-to-time, gently guide, show the self back to their true – their integrity. As a reminder.
This nurtures the soul since when the self can realign with its integrity, when it can fall back into it, like nut into its shell, that’s when the self sits the most snug, is the most itself.
These are moments to cherish and to prolong. This is when we are most at ease, the most relaxed, genuine and giving. Glowing happiness can set in now.
Past a certain personality-specific age self-discipline, sobriety, self-awareness can help one back into realignment.
But regardless of age, one can use other means of protecting the state of integrity – again, something arguably never really lost, only neglected to differing levels.
One way is to ground, in other words to walk barefoot on earth-energy-conductive surfaces, so on soil with its natural vegetation cover, in water (fresh or salty), on stone and wood surfaces, to use hemp rope or leather earthing footwear when going barefoot is either impossible or improper.
In the home and at work, where one spends considerable time over the same floor space, make sure those spots are over positive earth energies or that they are at least energetically neutral. This is especially important for the bed one sleeps in.
There are certain crystals known for their integrity-protecting qualities. Amethyst, bloodstone, obsidian or amazonite are some of these.
Furthermore, if we pay continuous attention to our clothes, so that in their style, texture and color they most authentically reflect our personality, we greatly aid a sense of balance in our disposition.
The same goes for our home interior. Like our clothes, our home is a mere extension of ourselves, ideally telling of integrity, of inner harmony.
However you choose to do so, please, folks: hold yourselves together! Parting with your integrity is as though a mountain jumped away from its feeding volcano.
But don’t go just yet – I AM NOT DONE.
While we each are individuals with our own unique values, this inner core that integrity is, stems from infinitely much further back than our conception – most certainly, the conception of the universe is its origin.
What this means, is that you and I, the pole cat, the water of rain puddles, the rocks you skip with on those puddles and the dust of the stars we all inhale, have the same ancestral integrity.
From all of the known inhabitants of the cosmos we are the only prodigal hobos – humans. And it’s a learned behavior which we can unlearn.
This unlearning process is vital for stripping from millennia of certain cultural fixations (and there are many) in order to return to our Nature. It’s a must, however, if we are to remain part of the universe in our flesh-and-blood selves too.
