Home is where the heart is, or is it where the heart longs to be? Do we carry our homes in our spiritual hearts while our bodies deal with the motions of the day?
So many of us are questioning lately – “Where is home?”
The answer may not be found within four walls, between four doors or even on forty thousand acres. After many hours of reflection on home I believe it to be the space where you feel comfortable being you, the place where you are treated with respect and dignity, where the landscape (and people!) inspire you to be your very best.
Once you have found that, home, the physical one with the wooden door and hammered wrought iron knocker will find you.
Home, on the quiet homestead in Hungary, is where we lay our heads at night on mattresses made from natural materials, it is where we cook, where we preserve fruits and vegetables without preservatives, it is where we turn ages and handcraft life.
Natural Simple Living will be a series of blog posts, week by week as they come, about us – Cheryl, Csermely and Roland – as we delve deeper into our eco-minimalist lives.
We are learning to unconsume, unschool and unbrand, to become the self-reliant superheros, shyly peeking around the corner, that we are meant to be. Passions are stirring and we want to to share this simple, natural life with you, in hopes that we can all desire to live more gently (and kindly) on Earth.
Some days are filled with stitches:
We encourage you to jump out of your simplistic den and share your comments and own blog posts related to living a simple and natural life below.
What does home mean for you?
