Etiquette seems to be hiding under the electronic buzz of ear buds, cell phones and mechanical devices much to the dismay of our species.
Are you out there? Are you listening?
People are sitting on the bus with their eyes averted while elderly folks climb the bus stairs only to find students listening to their headphones, occasionally with their bag taking up an additional seat, no doubt that the bag did not buy an extra ticket.
Strange how the bag does not move until the bus is so full that strangers are snuggling in the aisle.
If we all take a moment to simplify our thoughts and do what is right – what one ought to do…
…we will see that if we are able to stand we should give a chair to someone that must sit.
…one bus can hold a crowd of people, let those that are pregnant, those with children and those with canes on first, then move the mob.
…have compassion, your schedule may not be the most important.
…bring your common sense with you wherever you may go. You will never know when and where you will need it.
…take your smile.
People need happiness, spread some cheer, be polite and make someone’s day!
