We cordially invite you to join in with our cobbing workshop organized at our home in Ópusztaszer, southeastern Hungary this summer, August 13th through 21st.
Come enjoy all the benefits of clay internally and externally, while staying in a cob home, working in another and visiting several more.
Cover your hands in clay slip and if you enjoy it so much, take a detoxifying mud bath in our pond.
Try it on your tongue and if you are so inclined, share a glass of clay water or clay milk with us.
The main purpose of this workshop, however, is placed somewhere else. Beyond the healing power of clay we would very much like to introduce you to the trade and art of building with cob, this clay-based all natural construction material often referred to in simplistic language as mud – cob surely knows all what mud does – and much more.
Cob is a truly fantastic medium, diverse and ubiquitous in appearance, endowed with more plasticity than one would have ever imagined before touching it for the first time.
Come to get equipped with very practical and useful knowledge of tending to a cob building both as a mason and as a sculptor (we might just turn you into a free mason – if you allow us ;)).
More than the above, come with an open mind and pick our brains day and night (until we shut our eyes), learn from our experiences pertaining to a sustainably simple lifestyle.
If you don’t even hesitate, but hurry to read all the details for the cobbing workshop, you and us know we are a good match for each other.
